Phaedra Van den Wyngaert, a Belgian artist, devotes herself to her great passion: the art of painting. Graduated as a Master in Fine Arts, she creates images characterized by exceptional shapes and bright colors.

In her artistic practice, she explores how we relate to the world around us while creating a 'different' world in which colour, form and texture play an important role. When creating her work, she starts from distorted garments and transparent or overlapping layers of fabrics.

Through the process, these images become more and more a reference to memories that fade, distort, become less concrete or prompt something new. In this 'other' colorful world, the viewer often finds traces of emptiness or a certain tension can be experienced through the use of certain colors and shapes. Her work invites the viewer to explore and create a desire away from reality.

Inspired by her work of art, Phaedra also designs artistic jewelry, under the label Petit Atelier. Timeless creations, rising above trends, not tied to seasons and an ode to slow fashion.
